Best practice for linking Entities in Xplan

Hi there 👋

I’m seeking some guidance on best practices for linking entities in Xplan, and any key considerations to keep in mind. It’s been a while since I’ve needed to do this, so I want to make sure I’m approaching it correctly.

Is the recommended method still to create the entity as a new client, then link it to the master client via Admin > Client Groups? Would this setup support efficient reporting and future modelling?

Appreciate any insights or tips you can share.

    Hi Michelle, great question! Your example is spot on. Best practice is to link related entities from the main client record. 

    You can also link other related entities, such as family, to the main record to keep track of relationships. Just remember, only tick the box next to a related entity if you want that entity's details to appear in any consolidated reporting.
