Did you know you can create your own Xtools+ scenario templatesâcomplete with assumptions, strategies, and even custom labelsâready to apply to multiple clients in seconds? If you find yourself building the same types of scenarios in Xtools+ (think: super contributions, pension strategies, or asset sell-down sequences), you donât need to start from scratch every time. By saving a well-constructed client model as a scenario template, you can reapply that structure to new clients with minimal adjustments. Templates can retain: Income and asset structures Strategic assumptions Modelling (like contributions, drawdowns commencing an Account Based Pension) Why is this helpful? It standardises how your team models advice, improves turnaround time for strategy reviews, and reduces input errors. Itâs especially powerful for practices working at scale or those who want to embed best-practice scenario logic. Create a scenario once, use âSave As Template,â and next time you start a new Xtools+ scenario, select your saved template. Youâll be surprised how much time this can save. Jump into Xtools+, build your most-used scenario, and save it as a template. Then try applying it to a different clientâsee how fast you can go! And if youâre not sure where to start, head to the Iress Community for examples and a step-by-step guide. Did you know you can add shortcuts to your favourite / most frequently used menu items to the navigation menu in Xplan? We know some menus in Xplan require several clicks to get to - you can create your own shortcuts to these by saving them to your Links page. Next time you find yourself searching for a menu item that you use frequently, hit the star icon. Now it is saved as a favourite under the âMy Linksâ menu, making it easily accessible and saving you clicks next time you need to use it. Are you a datafeed administrator who checks the Platform Summary or Reconciliation Summary screens daily? Star it! â Do you manage xmerge templates for your team? Star it! âAre you an insurance adviser who frequently accesses the Policy Search screens? Star it!â What menu items are you going to star? âââ29Views1like0CommentsAbility to make API calls using a Planner Central license
Hello All, I am currently working on a small internal improvement project with a paraplanning company accessing Xplan using a Planner Central license. We are contemplating making API calls to Xplan in an effort to reduce data entry errors but we are not sure if the Planner Central license would allow us to do so as there is not much information on Iress' website to that effect. Accordingly, can anyone on here please share about whether a Planning Central license would allow us to make API calls to Xplan? If it is not possible to make API calls using a Planner Central license, can anyone please let me know what type of license the paraplanning company would need to get in order to be able to have the ability to make API calls to Xplan? Thank you in advance. Michael Jacquin95Views2likes8Comments27th March AMA: I'm Lana Graham, Xtools+ expert and product manager. Ask Me Anything!

Did you know you can set your own landing page in Xplan? Why? Save time by being automatically directed to the page that you use the most, everyday. Using a landing page automatically directs your eye to what's most important to you in your role. How? Select preferences from below your name; Navigate to General; Select from the options available in the âStart Page After Loginâ drop down menu...youâre all done. As easy as that. But, check your site and capabilities, because some sites might restrict what you can do and see. Now when you login to your Xplan site, you will be automatically taken to the page you use the most. Did you know that IressID is coming? You may have seen the emails and messages already, but in case you havenât, make sure to read on as this will affect every user. IressID is a centralised identity management system that provides secure, streamlined access across Iress products. What this means for you is that youâll be able to easily login to Xplan, Community, and Learning Centre using the same ID, and with more security of your access and data. If you have an Xplan login, this will switch over to logging in via IressID. IressID will be rolled out to all sites progressively over the course of 2025, so you will need to make sure youâre prepared, or you might find yourself locked out of Xplan! Everything you need to know is in this Community guide. Please take the 5 minutes to read this guide to save yourself any angst once IressID goes live on your site. As always, our Service Desk team via Iress Connect is ready to help if you have any trouble with the instructions! NB: If your site is IressID ready, youâll see a banner saying "Iress ID is coming to your Xplan site this week" pop up in Xplan. Otherwise, each Xplan user will be notified closer to the date when your site is scheduled to roll out.117Views3likes2Commentsđ¤ Xplan Hint: Auto reassign tasks
Did you know you can have Xplan automatically reassign tasks to another team member when someone goes on leave? Why? Be confident that tasks are not falling through the cracks when someone goes on leave. Save time not having to monitor a second personâs task list when they are away. The perfect tool for when your workflows auto-allocate tasks to specific role types. How? Select preferences from below your name, Navigate to Tasks, then Auto reassign Add in from whom to whom and for whenâŚ.youâre all done. As easy as that. Any tasks that get assigned to the person on leave during the time they are on leave will now auto assign to the nominated team member. Pro Tip: Auto reassign works for new tasks only - remember to allocate any tasks already active to other team members before you head off on leave.
