Did you know that you can now resize multi-fields on the interface, allowing you to view all options on screen at once? Yep, sometimes it is the little things that make a difference. While string fields have always been resizable, viewing a long list of multiple-choice options previously required scrolling. With this latest update, simply drag to expand the field to view more, or even all, of your options at once! 🙌22Views1like0CommentsThings to consider when creating individual vs company Professional Advisers in Xplan
Hi everyone 👋 I’m looking for best practices and things to consider when creating Professional Advisers in Xplan. The purpose is purely to link them to clients as authorised third parties, and to have their contact details easily accessible. One thing I’m unsure about is whether it’s better to enter the contact as an individual or a company. Are there any functional differences or implications for reporting, visibility, or future use? I haven’t been able to find any clear recommendations in the Community, so I thought I’d post here in case anyone has insights or tips to share. Thanks in advance 🙏37Views2likes5Comments18th Sept AMA: I’m Lana Graham, Xtools+ product manager, Ask Me Anything!

Did you know you can use a task outcome to not only update fields against the primary client but the partner record as well? The secret is in the “Is joint? = Yes” field When creating a thread or case template, you have the option to set the “Is joint?” field to Yes. As you create each task in your workflow you can then use a task outcome to update a field against the client record. In this example, I have set the task to change the category to Diamond. How else do you use task automation in Xplan to save you time? The Workflow Starter Kit has lots of ideas on how you can include automation in your workflow. I'd love to hear how you have employed this functionality in your business. 👇21Views1like0Comments🤓Xplan Hint: Saving time with bulk client actions
Did you know you can perform an action across multiple clients, all at once? If you ever need to do something in bulk for a list of clients, like adding a file note or task for example, then this hint will certainly take the tedium out of your day! On the client list screen (you can filter these via Advanced Search or any of the standard filters), just click on the downward action button next to any client: This will show the following list of actions: Do you already use this? What are some other bulk actions which has saved you time? Let us know!22Views1like1CommentBest practice for linking Entities in Xplan
Hi there 👋 I’m seeking some guidance on best practices for linking entities in Xplan, and any key considerations to keep in mind. It’s been a while since I’ve needed to do this, so I want to make sure I’m approaching it correctly. Is the recommended method still to create the entity as a new client, then link it to the master client via Admin > Client Groups? Would this setup support efficient reporting and future modelling? Appreciate any insights or tips you can share. Thanks in advance!32Views3likes2Comments🤓 Xplan Hint: Use task outcomes to automatically update fields
Did you know you can use a task outcome to update fields in Xplan? That’s right, you don't need to click through pages to update fields, then come back to the task to mark it as done - simply complete the task and have it update the fields for you! Imagine you have a process where every new prospect is asked to log in to the portal and complete some simple details about themselves - full name, date of birth, maybe employment details, outline their goals, and tell you a little about why they want to see you. You might even ask them to upload their latest super and insurance statement or sign an Authority to Access Information form so you can get the details. There’s a lot of steps involved in that process… if you’re doing it manually. But what if your task could do the heavy lifting for you? With a simple task outcome, you can update fields automatically. No extra clicks. No wasted time looking for the right field. No more doubling back to check if you actually did update it because you got distracted along the way! Email the prospect a Welcome Pack with information about you and your business, including a link to your FSG Update the FSG fields in Xplan to capture the date provided, version number and method of delivery for compliance Create the client portal access - the system then automatically sends the client the portal web address and user name while securely sending a SMS with their initial password Set the clients’ access level for secure messaging only Unlock the portal fact find and set the fact find type to Onboarding See how: Just like that. No manual updates needed. Check out the Workflow Starter Kit for lots of tips on how you can embrace automation. What else would you have Xplan update for you automatically? Let me know!24Views0likes0Comments😮 Health Premium Loadings modelling in Xplan made easier - Part 2
As part of our commitment to making Xplan more cohesive, we have continued enhancing the modelling of insurance policies that include health premium loadings. These changes will be available in the Xplan 25.9.459 release. ⚙️ What did we hear from you? While Client Focus > Existing Insurance allows you to review Insurance Policies and associated product information for new and existing policies, the Health Loading percentage recorded against an existing insurance cover was not imported into a Risk Researcher scenario. It was unclear in Risk Researcher, within the Premium Modelling > Current Situation table and associated SoA, which existing products contained a Health Premium Loading. 💡 What have we done? We've updated the existing Insurance Group and Risk Researcher with changes designed to simplify the advice journey and improve modelling! ✅ How does this benefit you? A central location to record and update information regarding policy restrictions .Enhanced productivity by reducing the need for additional work to accommodate implemented policies with health premium loadings in Client Focus. Existing Policies containing a Health Premium loading and/or Exclusion are now identifiable. 👀 So, what's new? Give me the detail... 💬 I would love to hear your feedback, so click 'reply' and leave your comments and questions down below!33Views3likes0Comments🤓 Xplan Hint: Compare Xtools+ Scenarios
Did you know you can visually compare multiple Xtools+ scenarios side-by-side using the Compare Charts function? When presenting financial strategies, viewing the potential outcomes of different options is key to help make informed decisions. The Xtools+ Compare Charts function is a powerful tool designed for exactly this. Instead of switching between individual scenarios, you can generate a single set of charts that visually contrast the projections, making the impact of your advice immediately clear. This feature allows you to select any of your Xtools+ (CALM) scenarios and view their projected outcomes, like Net Assets, Cashflow, or Asset Allocation, on the same graph. It’s perfect for viewing 'current position' versus a 'recommended strategy,' or for comparing two different strategic options. By presenting the data this way, you create a compelling and easy to understand narrative for your clients, helping them clearly see the long-term benefits of your recommendations. It simplifies complex information and brings your advice to life in a tangible way. How to Compare Charts Navigate to CALM: For your chosen client, go to XTOOLS > XTOOLS+ > CALM. This will show you the list of existing scenarios. Select Compare Chart: At the top of the list of scenarios, click the Compare Chart button. Choose the chart you wish to compare: From the left hand menu select the chart you wish to compare Choose Scenarios: Simply tick the boxes next to the scenarios you wish to compare. Compare: Click the Compare button. View Results: The comparison chart is now visible. You can change to other charts by selecting them from the navigation menu on the left.
