What does it take to build – and grow – an advice business in 2025?
The Advisely Growth Survey, launched earlier this year, revealed that many advisers are struggling with this very question. While the majority (81%) of participants indicated they were ready to grow their client bases, nearly half (46%) were uncertain as to whether they'd be able to do it.
Retire Aware principal Kylie Springall is tackling this challenge head on. She's venturing out on her own to deliver retirement advice to everyday Australians – not, she says, the typical advice client – and needs a steady stream of new business to keep revenue ahead of costs.
So: how's she going to make it happen?
She wants to offer education and advice options to suit a range of people, many of whom may not have seen an adviser before. Reaching these prospects, and converting them into clients, will require substantial efforts in marketing, networking and building a tech strategy that supports her ambitious plans.
In the new Advisely Masterclass, Kylie sits down with growth expert Dr. Katherine Hunt to explore strategies for connecting with people, building her profile and establishing a solid referral network. After that, she talks to Iress Xplan expert Courtney Youngblutt about the technology that will serve as the foundation of her unique offering.
Kylie's story demonstrates that the right tools and strategies can help any advice business achieve their growth goals – no matter who their ideal client is or what kind of business model they want to build.
