Human behaviours in the digital world should reflect what we do physically in the analog world.
This is such a great discussion thread Fraser.Jack !
In the 'real' world, we go above and beyond to protect our clients, but in the digital world, it’s easy for those same behaviours to slip through the cracks—often because we just don’t know what we don’t know.
I really liked the letterbox analogy you gave MatthewComan in Episode 6 of the CPD Masterclass—it’s such a simple but powerful way to explain the importance of protecting client data. Would you leave someone’s private mail in an unlocked letterbox? Probably not. So why treat digital information any differently? It’s a great way to reframe the conversation.
I can't wait to hear how others have used analogies or strategies to help the team understand the seriousness of cybersecurity. As practice principals and advisers, I'm sure this something you keep top of mind constantly, deborah.kent mat.tenison3 jenny.brown conrad anne.graham .

I don't have a particular analogy rainier.reyes and Fraser.Jack but the letterbox analogy is effective. I just keep reminding the team and our clients of real life examples of cyber risks and who can go past the case of the automatic dog feeder from China?
