Did you know that you can move file notes between entities? We still hear (to our collective horror) about users moving file notes between entities by copying and pasting. But thereās a much quicker way! In the file noteās āRelatedā tab, just click on the Add button to add other entities, and use the chain link button to link/unlink the note from any entity.30Views1like1CommentWant to know exactly what your client has updated in their digital fact find? Now you can!
Fact find comparison report is now available to all users Background Client Portal allows users to provide their clients with a digital fact find to complete for new and existing clients. The data is updated immediately in Xplan and allows advisers to capture data more efficiently. However, even though all changes are logged in the audit trail, getting a clear picture of what is updated wasn't always easy. What's new? Upon completion of a fact find in Client Portal, a comparison report is generated and saved as a file note against the client. All data from the fact find is displayed and any changes are clearly highlighted. How do I activate it? No extra steps are required to configure or activate the comparison report, it is already live in Client Portal and available now. Simply follow the existing fact find process by setting the fact find status to 'Unlocked' and when the client submits their fact find, a file note is created with the comparison report attached. Got questions or feedback? We always welcome feedback on our products and if you wish to let us know your thoughts, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them below.95Views6likes4CommentsUsing Xplan Client Portal as a Document Vault
Hi All, I'd be interested to know if any other practices are using the Xplan Client Portal as a Document Vault for clients to upload important documents such as Wills, PoA's etc? Our clients love the ability to upload documents via the portal, but it doesn't appear that there is any flexibility to "tag" or categorise a file note once it has been uploaded in the same way we can in the back end of Xplan. Are other using it in this manner? Is Xplan looking at developing a Document Vault as many other CRM providers offer? We've also had feedback from clients that it is now hard for them to search or filter for different types of files\messages we have sent them via the portal and they can't mark them as read or move them into an "actioned" folder like they would like to. Would love your thoughts on both of the items above.85Views5likes6Commentsš¤Xplan Hint: Getting fancy with client search
Did you know about client search prefixes? Not many users know about this, but you can search for clients using details aside from just their name. For example, if I want to search for clients with the postcode ā2000ā, I can just use the prefix pcode in the Quick Search box: This could be useful if you need to do specific searches; e.g. if youāre meeting a client and want to see who else is in the area, or if you received a missed call and need to search by the phone number. Check out this handy Community guide on the full list of available prefixes.41Views2likes1CommentHow well do your clients sleep at night?
The more you look at studies on what makes happy retirees, the more obvious it becomes that your retiree clients donāt care about asset allocation; they care about knowing they can keep a roof over their heads, eat food, and pay their billsāno matter what markets do. - Sure, having an adviser helps. - Sure, having enough wealth that it doesn't matter what markets do helps (a lot). But for all of them - they just want to know they can sleep peacefully at night. So, how do you approach this in your practice? š¹ Do you start with income needs first, or does portfolio strategy still take priority? š¹ How do you help clients manage the retirement risk zone without leaving them exposed? š¹ Are we missing an opportunity to rethink retirement income altogether? I explore these questions in my latest blog here, but Iād love to hear how youāre tackling this in your own advice practices.50Views4likes1Comment- 560Views4likes17Comments
Marketing - Email templates
Hi, I am looking to enhance the email templates in Xplan to make them more engaging and visually appealing. Currently, our templates follow the standard āletterā format, but I would like to create templates specifically for: Annual Review Due (invite with link to online bookings) Fee Consent Due (email to our client that their consent is due) My goal is to include elements such as banners and improve the overall presentation to make the emails more captivating for our clients. Does anyone have any resources or links within the Iress Community that demonstrate how to draft more detailed and visually appealing email templates in Xplan? Thank you in advance for your help!82Views3likes6CommentsTracking Client Progress
How do you track clients progress over time? We sometimes put together a report showing the balance, withdrawals and contributions each year. This helps to show how the clients portfolio grows over time. However we're doing this manually and it's time consuming. Is there any automated way to do with? Any reports built into Xplan? Do you have any other good ways to show clients their progress? It would be especially good if there was a way to link it to their goals.243Views6likes11CommentsPOLL: How can financial advice better support neurodivergent clients?
Hi everyone! I just listened to a really interesting episode of the Upfront podcast where behavioural finance expert Krystle McGilvery talked about how advice can better support neurodivergent clients ā those with ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more. Krystle mentioned that around 20% of the population is neurodiverse, but a lot of them feel like financial services arenāt meeting their needs. What do you think? As financial advisers, what changes have you made to better support neurodivergent clients? Have you found any specific tools, tips, or ways of communicating that work well? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!21Views0likes0CommentsPOLL: Advisers, what do you wear to client meetings?
I just listened to the latest episode of the Upfront podcast where financial adviser and host Emmanuel Asuquo chats with personal branding expert Jennifer Holloway. It was a fascinating discussion about how the choices you make with attire ultimately influence the level of trust your clients have in your service. The interesting part to me, at least, was not whether you should or shouldn't wear a hoodie to meetings but how consistent wearing said hoodie is with your brand. So I want to know from the advisers here ā what do you wear to client meetings and what impression do you think clients have of what you're wearing? Do you have any stories of mistaken first impressions?104Views4likes6Comments
