I've used a number of AI file note summary tools built by Australian businesses that have been great, extremely time efficient and accurate, the likes of Claras.ai & Paradino. What is the likelihood that Xplan would consider adding an AI recording feature in Xplan in the file note section that transcribes and summarises file notes We constantly talk about efficiencies and how to add value and improve the adviser experience, and I have found this to be one of the best additions I have made to our business.262Views7likes9CommentsHow do we challenge ourselves?
We’re a group of 3 practices operating under a single license, all are XPlan based. We would consider ourselves ‘pretty good’ users of XPlan. How do we learn what we don’t know? Challenge ourselves to be better users by leveraging functionality to the maximum extent possible and delivering more value for our investment? Is there a forum (either online or in person) we can join or tap into to meet like minded practices?271Views6likes14CommentsWant to know exactly what your client has updated in their digital fact find? Now you can!
Fact find comparison report is now available to all users Background Client Portal allows users to provide their clients with a digital fact find to complete for new and existing clients. The data is updated immediately in Xplan and allows advisers to capture data more efficiently. However, even though all changes are logged in the audit trail, getting a clear picture of what is updated wasn't always easy. What's new? Upon completion of a fact find in Client Portal, a comparison report is generated and saved as a file note against the client. All data from the fact find is displayed and any changes are clearly highlighted. How do I activate it? No extra steps are required to configure or activate the comparison report, it is already live in Client Portal and available now. Simply follow the existing fact find process by setting the fact find status to 'Unlocked' and when the client submits their fact find, a file note is created with the comparison report attached. Got questions or feedback? We always welcome feedback on our products and if you wish to let us know your thoughts, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to post them below.91Views6likes4CommentsHow to code birthday greetings in XPLAN
Hi Everyone, we are looking for assistance in coding the birthday email for clients. We need help with setting up coding so that the birthday greeting shows only the client who is celebrating their birthday on that day. Currently, the coding is showing both the client and their partner names in the email template that goes out to the client. We want to edit the coding so that it only shows either the client name or the partner name. Can anyone help us with tips on how to edit the coding to achieve the above result? Thanks!Resolved352Views5likes14Comments🤓 Xplan Hint: Client List - generating a report
Did you know you can customise your client search list and export the list into either PDF or CSV? Previously only the PDF version was available from this screen, but now you can export the data into a CSV file. What's even better is the newest available feature that will export the exact columns you have in your client list page, even the custom columns you have added. Why? Get the information you want to see on your client list search page. Generate a report of this information into either PDF or CSV for easy reference. No more need to create and generate an Xport report or run an export to get this information out all in one place - there are now less clicks involved. How? Click the preferences icon from the top corner of your client list result and select the “temp table config” option; Tick or untick what you want to see in the results list; Select Save Current Config and Save….you’re all done. As easy as that. If you can't find something that you want to see, this may need to be added at a system settings level, so check with your site administrator first. To run your report, click either the PDF or the CSV button.91Views5likes8Comments🤓Xplan Hint: Set your landing page
Did you know you can set your own landing page in Xplan? Why? Save time by being automatically directed to the page that you use the most, everyday. Using a landing page automatically directs your eye to what's most important to you in your role. How? Select preferences from below your name; Navigate to General; Select from the options available in the “Start Page After Login” drop down menu...you’re all done. As easy as that. But, check your site and capabilities, because some sites might restrict what you can do and see. Now when you login to your Xplan site, you will be automatically taken to the page you use the most. You can read more about other ways to customise your preferences here: Micro Learn - User Preferences.103Views5likes2CommentsXplan Tasks: Cut-off time
Hi everyone! First time posting here :) Just wondering if there is a way to automatically add one day to a due date if the task was activated after business hours? For example, if a Prepare Plan task was completed by an adviser after 5pm on Monday, the Peer review task (which has a due date condition of 3 business days after activated) will now be due on Friday instead of Thursday? At the moment, we have to manually adjust the due dates for these scenarios. Any ideas, Anonymous ?111Views4likes4CommentsSuper and Pension renovations in Xtools+ are complete. Do you want to move in?
Smarter modelling, more flexibility, and way less workarounds - You could be using it as early as 13 May 2025 We've transformed the way you model super and pensions in Xtools+, and it's all based on the feedback you shared with us. 💡 What’s New? We started with a simple goal: allow you to model a second super fund without lumping everything into one. But the more we listened, the more we realised there was a bigger opportunity. You told us you wanted to keep the tax components separate, so you could model retirement pension and estate planning strategies without workarounds. So, we’ve reinvented the way you model super accounts, contributions, cashouts, rollovers and pensions in Xtools+. User feedback has confirmed the new modelling to be a more flexible, intuitive, and powerful experience. 👉 Let us help you move in We’re excited for you to leverage the new features ASAP, which is why we’re opening it up from 13 May 2025. Did you know you can create your own Xtools+ scenario templates—complete with assumptions, strategies, and even custom labels—ready to apply to multiple clients in seconds? If you find yourself building the same types of scenarios in Xtools+ (think: super contributions, pension strategies, or asset sell-down sequences), you don’t need to start from scratch every time. By saving a well-constructed client model as a scenario template, you can reapply that structure to new clients with minimal adjustments. Templates can retain: Income and asset structures Strategic assumptions Modelling (like contributions, drawdowns commencing an Account Based Pension) Why is this helpful? It standardises how your team models advice, improves turnaround time for strategy reviews, and reduces input errors. It’s especially powerful for practices working at scale or those who want to embed best-practice scenario logic. Create a scenario once, use “Save As Template,” and next time you start a new Xtools+ scenario, select your saved template. You’ll be surprised how much time this can save. Jump into Xtools+, build your most-used scenario, and save it as a template. Then try applying it to a different client—see how fast you can go! And if you’re not sure where to start, head to the Iress Community for examples and a step-by-step guide.
